Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is currently comprised of 24 members, including both alumni and non-alumni, who bring diverse professional backgrounds such as law, education, medicine, business, religious leadership, insurance, government, and entrepreneurship. In addition to the voting members, Emeriti Trustees may attend meetings in a non-voting capacity. The Board convenes three times annually, along with one retreat, to provide governance and strategic direction for the College.

Operating through ten standing committees—including Executive, Governance, Audit and Risk Assessment, Academic Affairs, Mission and Student Life, Finance, Investment, Enrollment and Marketing, Buildings and Grounds, and Advancement—the Board offers direction and oversight, holding fiduciary responsibility for the College. The Executive Committee comprises the officers, president, and chairs of the standing committees, ensuring cohesive leadership and decision-making. The Board’s authority encompasses the management and control of the College’s property, business, and affairs, as well as the establishment and review of all goals, educational policies, and practices. While maintaining a general overview, the Board delegates the administration of the College to the President and, through the President, to other administrative offices.

Faculty Assembly

The Faculty Assembly is the primary body responsible for academic policy-making, encompassing areas such as curriculum development, instructional methods, research, faculty status, and aspects of student life related to education. Operating under the authority of the Board of Trustees, the Assembly contributes to shaping the College’s mission, vision, and resource allocation. Its membership includes all full-time faculty, select adjunct or part-time faculty representatives, and key administrative figures, including the President, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Assembly convenes regularly each semester, with additional special meetings as needed, to deliberate and make decisions on academic matters, ensuring that the faculty’s voice is integral to the institution’s governance and strategic direction. In addition, elected faculty representatives serve regular terms on a number of standing faculty and college-wide committees.

Staff Advisory Council

The Staff Advisory Committee serves as a representative body for staff, fostering open communication between staff and the administration. Recognized alongside the Faculty Assembly and Student Senate, the committee works to promote unity, pride, and cooperation within the campus community. It provides a platform to discuss and recommend action on issues affecting the College, ensuring staff have a responsible voice in advising on institutional policies and decisions. Additionally, the committee prepares and presents policy recommendations to the administration and Board of Trustees, contributing to the shared governance of Carroll College.

Associated Students of Carroll College (ASCC)

The Associated Students of Carroll College (ASCC) represents the student body and works to enhance the Carroll experience by empowering student voices, supporting clubs and activities, and fostering campus unity. ASCC drafts legislation, participates in college committees, and serves as a vital link between students and the administration. Through efficient communication and active engagement, ASCC ensures that students are informed and involved in decisions that impact campus life.
