Carroll Campus
Simperman 114
MCM

Carroll College's Mathematical Contest in Modeling on will be Thursday, 1/25, at 12:30pm in SH114.  Pizza will be provided.

All interested students to join us to hear more about the MCM.  The contest itself will run February 1 - 5.

The MCM is a contest for undergraduate students who work at their home colleges and universities all around the world, and spend a weekend in February developing and studying a mathematical model for a real world system and writing a paper describing their work.

These open ended problems are drawn from all fields of science, engineering, business, and public policy.  Last year's problems included such challenges as evaluating the drought adaptability of different plant communities, studying Wordle word puzzles, and creating a "Green GDP" to evaluate the economy of a nation that includes environmental impacts.
