Diplomas & Apostilles

Replacement Diplomas

Diplomas - Graduates

Each graduate receives his or her diploma via U.S. mail after all graduation requirements have been verified and the degree has been posted to the official Carroll record.  Graduates may, however, order an additional or replacement copy of their diploma if they need one.

Ordering a Replacement Diploma - Alumni

  1. Visit the Carroll College Registrar Store
  2. Choose Replacement Diploma Order. The site will provide instructions for placing your order.
  3. You will need a valid credit card and email address to complete your order.
  4. Diplomas will be sent via U.S. mail.

Diploma Fees

The fee for an additional or replacement diploma is $35.00, which includes shipping.

Please note: Diplomas generally take up to six weeks to arrive.

Apostilles

Many foreign countries require that documents such as diplomas and transcripts that are to be sent to, or used in, the country be accompanied by an Apostille.  An Apostille is the name of a specialized certificate that is issued by the Secretary of State which is attached to your original document to verify its authenticity.

If you wish to request an Apostille, please do the following:

1. Determine which Carroll College document (diploma and/or transcript) is required by the foreign country.

Transcript

  • If a transcript is required, please place your online order following the instructions on our transcript page. You will need to order a printed (rather than electronic) transcript by selecting either the Hold for Pickup or Mail delivery option.
  • Send an email to registraroffice@carroll.edu requesting that a copy of your diploma be notarized and sent to the Montana Secretary of State. If you do not want Carroll to send the notarized documents directly to the Montana Secretary of State, please note this in your email.

Diploma

  • If you have your original diploma, you may bring it in or mail it the Registrar’s Office and we will make a copy and have it notarized. If you do not have your original diploma, you will need to order it from Carroll’s Registrar Store (see Replacement Diploma Requests above). Please note: Diplomas generally take up to six weeks to arrive.
  • Send an email to registraroffice@carroll.edu requesting that a copy of your diploma be notarized and sent to the Montana Secretary of State. If you do not want Carroll to send the notarized documents directly to the Montana Secretary of State, please note this in your email.

2. Sign on to the Secretary of State’s Online Portal and request an Apostille. There are two options for submitting requests. Each requires a $10 fee.

  • Option 1: You may submit the order request for Apostilles or Authentications online through the Secretary of State’s Online Portal. They can accept credit/debit cards or eChecks when you submit the request online.
  • Option 2: You may also submit the order request for Apostilles or Authentications by mail. Payment can only be made by check or money order when submitting the request by mail.

Be sure to indicate in your request that your diploma and/or transcript will be coming in the mail from Carroll College so that the Certifications Division staff will be aware of the arrangements.
