United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Internships
The Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies seeks one full-time intern on a regular basis for each of the program areas below. Intern tasks vary from project to project.
Center Publications Interns
Publications interns assist in all aspects of preparing material for publication by or in association with the Center. In general, interns need to be familiar with the basic techniques of archival and secondary source research, have basic knowledge of editing and composition, and be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written English. Interns also may provide research assistance for occasional papers, publications, and other projects in such archives as the Museum’s, the Library of Congress, and the National Archives and Records Administration.
University Interns
University Programs interns assist Center staff as they prepare and conduct scholarly programs, including seminars, symposia, panel presentations, and campus outreach visits. Other duties may include:
- Contacting publishers for copies of recently published books related to the Holocaust
- Researching information about the Holocaust, recent Holocaust publications, and/or institutions where Holocaust-related courses are taught
- Surveying archival collections
- Performing general office duties
Senior Historian Interns
Interns for the Senior Historian assist in responding to requests for historical information and must have basic familiarity with the techniques of original and secondary research. In addition, they routinely update internal tracking documents and perform general office duties.
