It's time to start the process for housing selection for the 2025-26 school year!
Important Dates and Overview:
- Feb 3 — St. Matthew & St. Catherine Apartment applications open to juniors and seniors
- Feb 6 — St. Matthew & St. Catherine Apartment roommate matching opens
- Feb 12 — 2025-2026 Housing applications for Sophomores and Above, and Transfers opens
- Feb 19 — Priority deadline for apartment applications
- Mar 5 — Apartment offers are sent out
- Mar 5 — Roommate matching for Sophomore and Above, and Transfers, in residence halls opens
- Mar 10 — Priority deadline for residence hall housing application for Sophomores and above, and Transfers
- Mar 12 — Housing Selection Lottery Times emailed to applicants
- Mar 18 — Room selection lottery opens for Sophomores and above, and Transfers, based on lottery time assignment
- Mar 21 — Room selection lottery ends for Sophomores and above, and Transfers
- Mar 24 — 2025-2026 Housing Application for Incoming First-Year Students opens
- Apr 3 — Assignment confirmations for sophomores, juniors, and seniors will be sent out on a rolling basis
- Apr 3 — Residence Life and Housing will place late Sophomore and Above and Transfer applicants on a rolling basis.
- April 8 — Roommate matching for Incoming First-Year Students Begins
- May 1 — Freshman applicants received by this date will participate in the room selection on
May 14 - May 1 — Applicants after this date will be placed on a rolling basis.
What is a Housing Lottery?
- A housing lottery is the process of being randomly sorted and assigned a time to register for campus housing. You will receive communication through your Carroll College email in April to notify you of the time and date that your room selection will be available to you.

Who is required to live on campus?
- Beginning with the 2022 Freshman Class, Carroll College has implemented a 3-year (six semester) live-on requirement. All unmarried students under the age of 21 by the start of the Fall Semester are required to live on campus for their first three years, and are encouraged to live on for four!

Freshman Application Process
- Buildings available to First-Year Students will be the following: Guadalupe Hall
- Beginning April 8, you will be able to select ONE (1) person to invite to a roommate group.

- Applications received by May 1 will receive a room selection time for May 14, as part of the Housing Lottery process.
- The Room Selection Process will be communicated through email, and will take place from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm (MST).
- Applications arriving after May 18 will receive a housing assignment on a rolling basis throughout the summer.
- Single-room availability will be assessed after the start of the Fall 2025 semester. Single rooms are not currently available to First-Year Students without medical documentation and approval through Accessibility Services. Application through Accessibility Services does not guarantee a single room.
Sophomore Application Process
- For rising sophomores, there will also be a priority system, which will work as follows.
- Buildings available to Sophomores will be the following: Borromeo and St Charles Hall.
- Trinity may become available to Sophomores for selection based on availability.
- Beginning March 5, you will be able to select ONE (1) person to invite to a roommate group.
- Pairs of roommates may request each other through reslife@carroll.edu (for the purposes of living in a Quad in St. Charles)
- If you would like a TRIPLE, you may fill it by having a roommate pair request a third, single person through reslife@carroll.edu
- Confirmation of final assignments for applications before April 18 will arrive by May 1.
- Applications arriving after April 18 will be confirmed on a rolling basis throughout the summer.
- Single room availability will be assessed after the start of the Fall 2025 semester. With the exception of Borromeo Hall, single rooms are not currently available without medical documentation and approval through Accessibility Services. Application through Accessibility Services does not guarantee a single room.
Junior & Senior Application Process:
- Rising Juniors and Seniors will have priority access to room selection in the Lottery Process.
- Buildings available to Juniors and Seniors will be the following: Borromeo, St Charles, and Trinity Hall.
- Beginning March 5, you will be able to select ONE (1) person to invite to a roommate group.
- Pairs of roommates may request each other through reslife@carroll.edu
- In the case of Trinity, roommate pairs who have been assigned to the building may request to room together to fill a double or quad, and we will assign that on our end. After that, pairs will be assigned automatically based on fit.
- In the case of St. Charles, the procedure is the same, except a pair can then request a single person to fill a Triple.
- Confirmation of final assignments will then go out via email on a rolling basis during the month of May.
- Applications arriving after April 18 will be confirmed on a rolling basis throughout the summer.
- Single room availability will be assessed after the start of the Fall 2025 semester. With the exception of Borromeo Hall, single rooms are not currently available without medical documentation and approval through Accessibility Services. Application through Accessibility Services does not guarantee a single room.
Transfer Student Application Process
- Building availability is based on class status, as noted above.
- Beginning March 5, you will be able to select ONE (1) person to invite to a roommate group.

- Confirmation of final assignments for applications before April 18 will be communicated on a rolling basis beginning May 1.
- Applications arriving after April 18 will be confirmed on a rolling basis throughout the summer.
- Single-room availability will be assessed after the start of the Fall 2025 semester. With the exception of Borromeo Hall, single rooms are not currently available without medical documentation and approval through Accessibility Services. Application through Accessibility Services does not guarantee a single room.
St. Matthew and St. Catherine Apartment Application Process
- Please Note: The Campus Apartments are highly sought after, and available spaces will be limited.
- The following student groups will be able to apply for an apartment application:
- Rising Junior and Senior level standing students (with Seniors being given further weight).
- Transfer Students 21 years of age or older
- Married Students
- Students with Dependents
- Priority applications will be given in the following order:
- First priority is given to those students currently living in the apartments and who intend to remain for the next academic year (note: returners to the apartments must be enrolled full-time as students).
- Second Priority to full rising Senior Roommate groups (where all tenants in an apartment will be seniors)
- Third Priority to partial Senior Roommate groups (where at least one tenant will be a senior, and the other tenants will be juniors)
- Fourth Priority to full Junior groups (where all tenants will be Juniors).
- Applications will be available on February 3 through eRezLife
- Roommate matching within eRezLife will be turned on February 6th. Roommate Groups of up to three persons can be created within the software.
- All Applications submitted before the priority deadline will be reviewed by the Residence Life and Housing Team.
- All current St. Matthew and St. Catherine Apartment tenants will need to submit an apartment application if requesting to return.
