Anthropology: A Staged Reading

We are hosting a staged reading of Anthropology, a play by Lauren Gunderson, as a preview for our full production next season. Anthropology is a gripping mystery that follows Merril, a woman determined to uncover the truth about her sister’s disappearance. When an AI chatbot—trained on her sister’s texts—begins responding with unsettling accuracy, Merril is pulled into a high-stakes search for answers, blurring the boundaries between grief, technology, and reality.

A staged reading allows the audience to focus on the script, characters, and themes without full sets or costumes. It’s an opportunity to introduce the play to our community, generate excitement, and encourage engagement with next season’s production. Additionally, this event serves as a recruitment opportunity for auditions and an invitation for theater lovers to experience an early glimpse of the show.
