About

Kelsey graduated in 2022 with a degree in Public Relations and Communications with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Business Administration. She is originally from Bozeman, MT, and is currently the Director of Communications at Hoover Institution.

How did Carroll prepare you for your current role?
“My time at Carroll prepared me for my career because my courses were based around real-world application, rather than memorizing out of a textbook. This definitely gave me a leg up because I felt I had some relevant experience by the time I was applying for jobs. Many of my professors also brought in guest speakers and professionals in the field. This greatly broadened my perspective and showed me the endless routes I could take after graduation.“

Favorite memory:
“I have so many awesome memories from Carroll but Softball Weekend always lands near the top of that list. It’s the best weekend of the year with unathletic ability, Carroll spirit, and shenanigans on full display. Whether it was snow or sun, everyone was fired up to play.”

Why you would recommend Carroll to others:
"I would highly recommend Carroll to others because of the tight-knit community aspect. I made lifelong friends and connections during my time in college. The small class sizes added to the sense of comradery and made a huge impact on my education because I was able to have personal relationships with all of my professors. By the time I graduated, my professors and other students in my major felt like a second family. The professors at Carroll are incredible and have such genuine care for their students."

Do you have any advice for current or prospective students?
My two pieces of advice would be:

  1. Enjoy every moment of college life... It goes fast! Say yes to every opportunity and get out of your comfort zone. Before you know it, you’ll be wishing you were trudging your way up St. Charlie’s stairs preparing for a Brent Northup lecture.
  2. I am a firm believer that no one fully knows what they are doing after graduation. I would advise you not to stress out too much because eventually you’ll figure it out and things will fall into place. Fake it until you make it (but don't tell my boss I did that).
