ASCE Howard Preston Scholarship- Now Accepting Applications

The Columbia Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers invites applications for the Howard Preston Scholarship Award. The purpose of the scholarship is to promote excellence and professionalism in the field of Civil Engineering. The scholarship will provide financial support for the student’s educational expenses.

Student Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled by the fall term of 2017 in Civil Engineering with a minimum of sophomore status or be a graduate student in Civil Engineering in an ABET accredited college or university in the US.
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Have parents residing in or have graduated from high school located within the following Columbia Section boundaries, (or have been a resident of one of the counties listed below for at least two years):
    • Washington: Counties of Yakima, Kittitas, Klickitat, Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla, and Columbia
    • Oregon: Counties of Morrow, Umatilla, Union, and Wallowa
  • Have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher based on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.

Scholarships to be awarded will range from $1,000 to $2,000. Scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditioned upon the enrollment of the student as specified under student eligibility requirements.
