Zach Milburn
Zach Milburn had the opportunity to research and create a hypothetical, free summer lunch program for school-aged kids in the Helena area. He developed a deeper understanding of how to recognize a need within a population, how to address that need, and then how to create a program or business that attempts to meet that specific need in an effective and creative way. My time at Carroll provided me with the knowledge and skills I needed to be successful in my future career. The Health Sciences department taught me that not everyone has to be a physician to make positive changes in the health of our community. Because of this, I decided to pursue a career in public health. I recently accepted a position as an Environmental Health Specialist for the Casper-Natrona County Health Department in Casper, WY where I will be in charge of maintaining and improving community/environmental health conditions.

I took advantage of as many opportunities as I could at Carroll College. The academic rigor, opportunity for spiritual growth, and the supportive teaching staff helped prepare me for admissions into graduate school. I am currently at Idaho State University pursuing a Master of Occupational Therapy degree. Carroll College created an environment that fostered my love for service, faith, community, and learning that I will carry with me for a lifetime.

Attending Carroll College was one of the best decisions I have ever made for both my academic as well as personal development. During my time at Carroll, I developed professional relationships with the school faculty well as people in the Helena community that will last a lifetime. Carroll prepared me for my future academic and professional career as well as for all of life’s hectic moments. While at Carroll, I became friends with many people that I now consider family. Most of the personal relationships I developed while at Carroll will be lifelong.
