About
Hi, I'm Dr. Shaun Scott and I am happy to be teaching Computer Science at Carroll College. I worked in IT for 11 years as a network manager and systems analyst before I started teaching Computer Science classes at the undergrad level (MIS, Systems Analysis, Databases. etc.). I finished my BS in Business prior to my IT work. After I started teaching I continued my education with a masters then a doctoral degree in education where my focus was Instructional Technology. In addition to Computer Science, over the years I have taught undergraduate Economics onsite and graduate level Learning Design and Instructional Technology courses online for a variety of educational institutions.
I enjoy running, hiking, snow shoeing, snow boarding, mostly I just really enjoy winter outdoor activities. I have 4 children, two girls, 26 (LPN & Veteran) and 24 (working on Masters in DC), and two boys, 15, and 14 (both are in Cross Country and Band/Music). We also have a few acres with chickens, ducks, dogs, garden, orchard, and I let a friend's horses graze the pasture.
I am on our local school board serving with two years as Chair (we have about 650 K-12 students). I'm glad I have an opportunity to contribute to my boys' education.
I think most rewarding is simply helping students become successful!
