Carroll College is honored to host the Academic Scholarship Program event, which is for admitted students with a 3.0 GPA or higher interested in experiencing Carroll’s academic culture and opportunities – including a Carroll micro-class. Below are some frequently asked questions.
How can I prepare?
Micro-class: Students will join a group of 20, guided by 2 faculty members, to participate in a micro class and discussion focused on water. Be ready to collaborate and contribute to the various sessions.
Interview: The event includes a 15-minute personal interview. There are no wrong answers. We are looking for well-crafted, thought-provoking responses that directly reflect your individual insights, curiosity, and academic ambition. No prepared speech is needed—just be yourself!
What do I wear?
Look and feel like yourself while you dress for Success - We recommend students dress in a professional manner. Black or khaki pants, skirts, dresses, button-downs, and sweaters are all great options!
How will I be assessed?
Faculty seek students who are well-prepared, inquisitive, eager to learn, and possess strong social skills, such as making eye contact, offering a firm handshake, and engaging confidently and politely with people of all ages.
What should I bring?
Bring what you typically would to a college visit. A notepad and pen are optional.
What if I want to meet with music, fine arts, or athletics?
Students and parents have the opportunity to meet with faculty and staff of other disciplines at the academic showcase. Specialized meetings will need to be arranged with the specific department you're interested in.
I'm a parent. Can I participate?
Parents or guardians are welcome to join students, with a tailored itinerary available for them.
What's next?
When will I be informed of my award? Scholarship Awards will be included in the financial aid award letters in January.
Have fun! We look forward to getting to know more about you! See more information about the Academic Scholarship Program here.
