Gather supplies for Africa Medical Mission with nursing students

Senior nursing students who were inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International nursing honor society are gathering the following items. Please drop off your donations at the Nursing Department office (415 SH) or one of the boxes located in the lobbies of Simperman, Campus Center, St. Charles and upper O'Connell Hall by Wednesday, March 15th. Thanks for making a difference!

Africa Supply Collection List – 2017

  1. Receiving Blankets
  2. Soap
  3. Hand towels and washcloths
  4. Newborn t-shirts or onesies
  5. Newborn (0-3 mos.) pajamas and outfits
  6. Outfits for infants ages 3 - 12 months (new or gently worn)
  7. Baby socks
  8. Baby and infant slippers or shoes
  9. Baby hats
  10. Bibs
  11. Reading glasses (1.0 - 1.5 are the most popular need)
  12. Dressings (all kinds and sizes) and dressing tape - outdated works great, so those who are connected to a hospital or healthcare facility, please collect
  13. Tooth brushes and tooth paste
  14. Hand sanitizer
  15. Twin sheets and pillow cases for the clinic beds

Africa Medical Mission - New Hope International Hospital

The mission of New Hope International Hospital (NHIH) is a restoration of health through the commitment of providing quality healthcare to persons experiencing illness or injury through medical services, education, and spiritual support.

On May 17, NHIH will be heading to Tanzania to spend 3 weeks working and providing health care to villages throughout the Sakila, Tanzania area. They will have a team of Physicians, Nurse Practioners, Nurses, Dentist, Dental Hygienist, Physical Therapist and support staff who set up traveling clinics in churches of the villages of the Sakila area.
