Carroll College Welcomes Keith Stout as Vice President for Institutional Advancement
Carroll College is pleased to announce that Keith Stout will be joining the college as the new Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Keith currently serves as the Managing Director of Development at Colorado State University and brings with him 22 years of experience in fundraising at various organizations and institutions of higher learning.
Keith's extensive career includes notable positions such as Vice President of Advancement at Concordia University St. Paul and Assistant Vice President at Augsburg College, where he played a pivotal role in their successful $55M campaign for a new signature academic building. His proven track record in leading successful campaigns and securing significant donations in higher education makes him an excellent fit for our institution.
Keith is mission-driven and believes in building strong, lasting relationships as the foundation of his development work. He expressed eagerness to return to a small liberal arts college with a deep connection to the Church.
His experience working with a diverse range of donors, including CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, small business owners, farmers, and entrepreneurs, has provided him with valuable insights and the ability to solve complex problems with creative solutions. Keith believes that great development professionals are authentic, persistent, passionate, and creative, and he strives to build and mentor teams that embody these qualities.
Keith’s extensive experience in institutional advancement, particularly with capital and comprehensive campaigns, comes highly recommended by his previous institutions. His expertise will greatly benefit Carroll College as it looks ahead to its future comprehensive campaign. Keith will officially begin his role on July 23.
The college is grateful to the members of the Search Advisory Committee—Dr. Jennifer Glowienka, Chris Schelling, Nicole Drumheller, Dr. Jeremy Johnson, Karla Weltz, and Anne Gannaway, Vice President for Advancement from St. Ambrose University—for their diligent efforts and commitment throughout the selection process. Their time and thorough evaluation are greatly appreciated.
Carroll’s leadership also express their deep appreciation to Dr. Anneliese Renck for stepping in as the interim VP for Advancement over the past 4.5 months. Her dedication and efforts in collaborating with her staff to maintain and advance the college’s development initiatives have been greatly valued.
Keith and his family—his wife Christine and their younger children, Ainsley and Cullen—are excited to relocate to Helena this August. Additionally, Keith has two adult children: Izzy, who completed her master's degree this year and lives in Phoenix, Arizona, and Nikki, who recently earned her bachelor's degree and resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“Carroll College has an incredible mission and is the reason I applied for the job. I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve and be a part of such a special institution,” shared Keith.
