HELENA - Carroll College is pleased to announce that it has hired Michael Larkin as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Larkin comes to Carroll with 30 years of fundraising and development experience, predominantly in Catholic education.
“Michael is bringing to Carroll years of success with fundraising campaigns and management of effective offices of Institutional Advancement,” said Carroll College President Dr. Tom Evans. “His teams have won highly-regarded higher education fundraising awards for quality and efficiency, and those who have worked with him describe him as the very best in his field. Additionally, Michael is passionate about advancing Catholic higher education and is excited about living under the Big Sky,” continued Evans.
In a development career spanning thirty years, major gift organizations directly under Larkin’s leadership have raised more than $350 million. He has successfully organized start-ups (at Loyola School in New York City and the Foundation of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey), served as the first major gift director for a university in a significant ($150 million) comprehensive campaign (Fordham University in New York), and led two universities to successful campaigns (Saint Peter’s College in New Jersey and St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas).
Larkin served as Vice President for University Advancement at St. Edward’s University for a cumulative duration of twelve years. During that time, he conceived and designed a $100 million Comprehensive Campaign, as well as was instrumental in securing the largest individual, corporate and parent gifts in the university’s history resulting in more than $40 million in donations. Prior to St. Edward’s, Larkin spent a total of six years at Fordham University beginning as a Development Officer and was successively promoted to Director of Major and Planned Gifts and ultimately Associate Vice President for Development and Director of Campaign Resources. Larkin earned a B.S. in philosophy from Haverford College and an M.S. in education from Fordham.
“I am thrilled to be joining Dr. Evans’ leadership team at Carroll College. Building on the success of the Mind Body Spirit Campaign, the college is poised for additional transformational progress as it enters a new strategic planning cycle. I’m excited by the new funding opportunities ahead. Moreover, Dr. Evans is an inspiring leader, and I look forward to partnering with him wherever Carroll supporters reside,” said Larkin.
Mr. Larkin’s official start date is July 1, 2016.
