HELENA, MT – Carroll College is pleased to announce that Karen Price, Ph.D., has been named Carroll’s next Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, effective July 1, 2026.
Dr. Price currently serves as Vice Provost and Dean of Institutional Effectiveness at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina, a Catholic liberal arts institution serving approximately 1,750 students. She also holds the rank of Associate Professor of Data Analytics and has experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate students across multiple modalities.
Dr. Price brings more than a decade of leadership experience in Catholic higher education with expertise in academic affairs, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, student success initiatives, graduate program development, online education, and strategic planning.
At Belmont Abbey, Dr. Price played a central role in guiding the institution through a successful SACSCOC reaffirmation, level change, and Fifth-Year Interim Review, all with zero findings, helping position the college for growth and innovation. She spearheaded the launch of Belmont Abbey’s first master’s degree programs and fully online offerings and helped lead a redesign of the college’s First-Year Experience and advising model, which contributed to record retention outcomes. In addition, she partnered closely with faculty on initiatives related to shared governance, including reimagining the Core Curriculum and developing more equitable approaches to faculty merit review and salary alignment.
“Dr. Price brings an exceptional combination of experience, vision, and a deep understanding of Catholic higher education,” said Carroll College President Dr. Jennifer Glowienka. “Her leadership in academic innovation, graduate and online program development, accreditation, student success initiatives, and data-informed decision making makes her the right person at the right time as Carroll continues to realize the bold new vision established by our Board of Trustees this past fall. Karen’s collaborative leadership style, commitment to mission, and passion for forming students intellectually and personally will serve our community well in the years ahead.”
Throughout her career, Dr. Price has demonstrated a strong commitment to collaborative leadership, shared governance, and mission-centered innovation. Her leadership is defined by collaboration and a track record of cultivating forward-thinking curricular innovations aligned with workforce and student needs.
"Joining the Carroll College community is an extraordinary privilege,” said Dr. Price. “A diocesan college thrives on the strength of its relationships – with its students, its faculty and staff, and the local community it is called to serve. I am eager to partner with President Glowienka and the entire Carroll community to carry out its mission of integrating rigorous academic excellence with the holistic formation of our students for a lifetime of purpose. My family and I are thrilled to embrace this next great adventure out West and call Helena home.”
Dr. Price earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands, where her research focused on institutional assessment and evidence-informed change. She also holds a Master of Science in Sport Psychology & Behavior from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Science from the University of Pittsburgh, where she was an NCAA Division I student-athlete and Academic All-American.
She currently serves on the Council of Scholars for the American Academy for Liberal Education (AALE) and previously served as President of the North Carolina Association for Institutional Research (NCAIR). She is also an affiliate consultant with Credo, Powered by Carnegie, supporting higher education strategy and planning initiatives nationwide.
Dr. Price will step into the role currently held by Dr. Jennifer Glowienka, who has served concurrently as Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College and Interim Co-President during the past year. On July 1, 2026, Dr. Glowienka will transition into her permanent role as Carroll College President.
