The Carroll Men’s Basketball Team and First Interstate Bank would like to invite you to celebrate the start of our 2024-25 campaign with our inaugural Saints Tip-Off Dinner at Carroll College. The night will be an introduction to Carroll’s new student-athletes and staff as well as a celebration of Carroll College’s mission and our growing global outreach. As a member of the Helena community, Carroll’s Men’s Basketball program values the support of the local friends and families that make Carroll the place it is. In our partnerships, we aim to communicate our long-term vision and the culture we look to build here on the Hilltop.
Speakers will include MBB Head Coach Dan Pearson introducing the vision forward for the program, Carroll alumni Ray Kuntz, sharing some of the promising updates on Saints Athletics’ collaboration in Carroll’s growing global outreach, and lastly Hall of Fame Basketball Coach, Bob Hurley.
Coach Hurley is a 2010 inductee into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, and longtime coach and President at St. Anthony’s High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. With the Friars, Coach Hurley won over 1,000 games, 26 State Titles, and 4 National Championships, while sending over 150 players to play Division-1 basketball and 6 NBA First-Round draft picks.
For those unfamiliar with the legend of Coach Hurley and his heroic efforts to keep the historic St. Anthony’s Catholic High School afloat, his story has been told in dozens of books, articles and documentaries on his teams’ efforts, such as (link): "Legacy: Bob Hurley" . Certainly, Coach Hurley’s proudest basketball accomplishments have come through two of his sons: 2x National Champion Duke Point Guard, Bobby Hurley, and the current back-to-back National Championship coach at UConn, Dan Hurley.
