Why I Love Carroll College
"As someone who attended and graduated from Carroll College, I have had plenty of time to witness all the things that make Carroll stand out. Carroll is full of professors and staff who truly want to see you succeed, there’s no wonder we have the highest four-year graduation rate in the region. Whether it was professors taking time out of their day to sit down with me for an hour to talk about a class I was sick for or getting emails back from professors within the day, Carroll has one of the strongest support structures for students. At no point did I have a teaching assistant give me lectures, it was always the professor. I have made lasting connections with professors at Carroll who continue to support me even as a graduate. The small class sizes and the 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio mean you can too.
"The liberal arts education side of the College is also something that I find to be personally notable about Carroll College. While you make a community of people you know from classes inside your major, the classes you will take outside of your major, due to the liberal arts education, do more than just broaden your field of understanding. They allow you to make more connections with people who might not be in your classes that are heavily related to your major. By the end of my experience at Carroll College, I had surrounded myself with people from pre-med to pre-law, that kind of diversity in your own community is just not as common at a large non-liberal arts school."
