SAINTS AND SANDBAGS During the recent devastating floods in the Helena area, Carroll Saints football and basketball players rose to the occasion, volunteering to fill sandbags. It's hard, grubby work, but Carroll musclepower was more than equal to the challenge. News coverage of our Saints earning their halos is online at: http://www.beartoothnbc.com/sports/sports-helena/7055-football-players-help-with-flood-relief.html and at http://www.beartoothnbc.com/weather/floodwatch/7083-volunteering-to-help-flood-victims.html POTS IN 60 PIECES Carroll Fine Arts Professor Ralph Esposito is opening a new exhibit entitled "Sixty Pieces," featuring his original ceramic art, displayed in celebration of the Archie Bray's 60th anniversary. As part of "From the Center to the Edge: 60 years of Creativity and Innovation at the Archie Bray Foundation," Prof. Esposito welcomes the public to enjoy "Sixty Pieces" in the Carroll Art Gallery (St. Charles Hall room 034) at a free open house this Saturday, June 25, from noon to 5 p.m. "Sixty Pieces" will run throughout June and July and end on August 5. The Carroll Art Gallery will be open when Prof. Esposito is on campus at variable times throughout the show's summer run-call 447-4302 to visit the gallery and see all "Sixty Pieces." CAMPY COVERAGE Carroll is host to a number of ongoing summer camps for kids and outside groups, with the annual Girls State and Boys State just recently concluded, along with the "Inspiring Young Minds Under the Big Sky: Governor and First Lady math and science camp" that occurred last week. This week, the sixth annual ReACT Teen Summit has arrived, bringing 90 young people from all over Montana to homebase Carroll, where they take on Big Tobacco. And, our summer sports camps abound with aspiring future Saints athletes, enjoying training and mentoring by Carroll's superstar coaching staff. Some summer camps are still open for enrollment: check out info online at http://www.carroll.edu/athletics/camps.cc  Meanwhile, the Montana Association for the Blind has returned to campus for its month-long intensive orientation program ending July 9, to prepare the vision-impaired to cope with and surmount their challenges.  And, this weekend, Family Promise will bring homeless parents and their kids to live on campus for a few weeks packed with learning and work experiences, life-skills training and loving care, including meals and spiritual support from Carroll community members. DEERLY BELOVED Last Friday, June 17, two new (very new) campus residents arrived and had some of us seeing double.
