Nathan Bollar, senior chemistry major at Carroll College from Soda Springs, ID was recently published as a result of his work this summer at the USDA ARS Poisonous Plant Research Lab in Logan, UT.
Nathan spent the summer of 2014 working with Dr. Steven Colegate on the elucidation of products formed from addition of methanol and ethanol to riddelliine and seneciphylline to form adducts. Riddeliine and seneciphylinne are commonly used as analytical standards in toxicology work, and their chemistry with these common solvents could prove to be important for testing procedures. Nathan's work was just accepted to the International Journal of Poisonous Plant Research.
Congratulations Nathan!
