Carroll selected as a top school in Military Advanced Education's Guide

MAE-2016-Logo.jpgCarroll College has been designated as a top school in the Military Advanced Education 2016 Guide to Colleges & Universities, measuring best practices in military and veteran education. The guide was released in the December issue of Military Advanced Education magazine.

“Carroll College is honored to serve our service members, veterans and their families,” said Carroll College Veteran Service Coordinator Brandy Keely. The college’s designation in the guide is an opportunity to educate veterans about the quality of programs available at Carroll to help provide them with a seamless transition to higher education.

The guide presents results of a questionnaire of the military-supportive policies enacted at more than 600 institutions including private, public, for-profit, not-for-profit, four-year, and two-year colleges. Institutes were evaluated on their military culture, financial aid, flexibility, on-campus support and online support services.

“We believe the guide serves as an invaluable tool for both education services officers and transition officers when advising service members about their educational opportunities,” said Kelly Fodel, editor of Military Advanced Education magazine.

Carroll is proactive in developing initiatives that provide the support and resources needed to address the unique academic, financial, and social needs of veteran students and their families.

In addition to Carroll’s participation in the Lewis and Clark County Joining Community Forces Coalition, the college has established two new programs – the Veteran Student Textbook Loan Program and the Non-Traditional Student Peer Mentoring Program.

“Through these ongoing efforts, we seek to carry out our mission of providing service members, veterans and their families with the highest quality education, and the assistance and guidance necessary to promote our veterans growth, independence, self-worth and potential, in an effort to secure their future through education,” said Keely.
