They're Here!

The class of 2017 arrived last Thursday and this year's orientation crew helped move them into their rooms in the blink of an eye.  Upperclassmen were on hand with plenty of advice, information, fun, and most importantly, muscle. The coming week will be filled with plenty of opportunities to get to know classmates, the college, and the city of Helena. See what's in store here. Also, be sure to check our Carroll Facebook page for all the photo highlights.

Thanks to everyone who helped welcome our new students and their families to Carroll College!

Restoring Souls... through historic preservation in Cuba

Magda Resik Aguirre, Director of Communications for Havana’s City Historian and a key figure in the pioneering effort to restore Old Havana, will visit Carroll College August 28-29.  During her visit she will give a presentation about her work at a public forum this Wednesday.

Old Havana was founded in 1519 and remains the heart of Cuba's capital city. Old Havana is a designated World Heritage site and has been undergoing extensive historic restoration since 1993. This restoration goes beyond basic building rehabilitation to effect the social, cultural, and economic life of Old Havana.

While in Helena, Ms. Resik Aguirre will visit the Montana Historical Society and receive a tour of historic downtown Helena before traveling to the University of Montana for additional presentations. Ms. Resik Aguirre's visit is co-hosted by Carroll College, the Montana Historical Society, Artemis Common Ground, and the University of Montana's Global Leadership Initiative. Wednesday's presentation at Carroll is open to the public and will be held in the lower Campus Center at 7:30 p.m.

This distinction recognizes an individual's service to intercollegiate athletics, to the NAIA, and to their respective sport.

Emmert (seen in photo at right) guided the Saints to four successive national championships, from 2002 to 2005. While with the Saints, he was a four-time All-American, a three-time NAIA championship game MVP, two-time NAIA Player of the Year and the NAIA Player of the Decade.
