From Carroll College Communications Professor Brent Northup:
My Servant Leadership class is honoring two unselfish members of the Carroll and Helena communities on Monday at 6 p.m. in the Scola.
Patrick Harris, who gives his heart and soul to us all, will be honored as a Servant Leader who "leads to serve, not to be served."
Kristine Anderson, a beloved waitress at Steve's Cafe, will be honored as an outstanding Customer Servant for her years serving us all. Customer Servants "anticipate and meet the unspoken needs of others." They are "invisible yet attentive" in making our meals special.
Join us for the short ceremony honoring Patrick and Kristine. The students in the class chose Patrick and Kristine after a semester of study of servant leadership and customer service. The students went the extra mile—make that the extra meal—by eating breakfast at Steve's as "research."
The students have planned the ceremony and will be the emcees that evening.
We hope you will come. You might even be fed a bit! Mark your calendars: Monday Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. in the Scola. Grading can wait!
May you make it to the semester finish and fall across the ribbon with a smile on your face and thoughts of Santa in your heart.
