House Party 101: Information You Need To Host or Attend a Safe and Legal Party

What:  House Party 101
When  Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023
Time:  7:00-8:00 p.m. (+ time after for individual questions)

Come on down to the Lower Cube on Thursday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. and learn about Carroll and Helena rules & regulations about house gatherings, as well as ask any questions you may have. Representatives from Carroll admin and the Helena PD will provide short presentations on their policies, as well as a student who has experience hosting safe, legal, and fun events at their home. This event will be panel-style, so after the presentations, there will be time for students to ask any questions they may have. There will also be conversations about preventing drinking and driving, what Carroll is doing to ensure students have a safe ride home, as well as general tips about finding a sober ride.

Additionally, the event will address sexual assault prevention, how to improve Carroll's culture, and ways to intervene if needed. In general, this event will serve as a place for students to come with their questions and open minds, both to learn about safe practices and to contribute positively to Carroll's culture.

If there are any questions about the event, email Guillermo Perez-Ochoa at or Dean of Students Annette Walstad at
