About
What kind of oppurtunities have you recieved at Carroll?
Over the course of a semester, I had the opportunity to research and create a hypothetical, free summer lunch program for school-aged kids in the Helena area. I developed a deeper understanding of how to recognize a need within a population, how to address that need, and then how to create a program or business that attempts to meet that specific need in an effective and creative way. As someone who wishes to one day serve in a leadership role in a healthcare setting, this project gave me a glimpse of what may lie ahead of me. Aspects from this project like performing community needs assessments, grant writing skills, business models, and even meeting agendas all serve as lessons that I will carry into my projected career path.
