Maria Brosnan, MSN, APRN, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC, CNE, CHSE
Associate Professor, earned her Master's Degree in Nursing at Rush University of Chicago, a Post-Graduate Degree at Frontier Nursing University, and her Baccalaureate of Science degree at Loyola University of Chicago. She holds dual board certifications as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Association of Critical Care Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honors Society. Prof. Brosnan has earned certifications as a Certified Nurse Educator and a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator. She is the Former Director of the Critical Care St. Vincent's-Carroll College Collaborative Program.
Research Interests include Student-Developed Simulation as a learning strategy, Emotional Intelligence as an Indicator of Baccalaureate Nursing Student Success, and Resiliency Score as a Predictor of Success in Nursing.
Prof Brosnan continues her clinical NP practice working with the Veteran population, as well as, holding a Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner position with St. Peter’s Regional Medical Center. She also teaches Advanced Cardiac Life support courses at the hospital for the staff and community.
When she is not teaching, Maria enjoys spending time with her horse, hanging out with friends, and being outdoors with her dog, Riley, enjoying the beautiful sites of Helena & Montana,.
Current Courses: Pathophysiology and Pharmacology, Illness across the Lifespan II, Capstone Clinical, Comprehensive Nursing Review, and Applied Pharmacology. Coordinator for student ACLS and PALS courses.
