Dr. Julian Nolen is an Associate Professor at Carroll College, Licensed Psychologist, and owner of Montana Counseling and Assessment. He holds two M.S. degrees as well as a Ph.D. completed in 2015 at Colorado State University. Dr. Nolen holds more than 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families - in settings ranging from maximum security correctional facilities to chronic health clinics and community private practice.
Dr. Nolen specializes in the creative integration of evidence-based and experiential therapeutic interventions, with the goal of providing clinical services that are simultaneously enjoyable and effective. He also carries this same enthusiasm into the classroom setting, encouraging students to learn via hands-on practice, fun, and frequent laughter as well as through traditional didactics.
His research and academic interests primarily focus on the development and implementation of effective mental health intervention at the individual, family, and community level.
