What to Bring
- Posters and poster putty
- Favorite memorabilia
- Lamps, reading light
- Alarm clock
- Stereo or radio
- TV (cable connections are available in all rooms)
- Computer (All rooms are wired for the Carroll network. Bring along your software disks in case problems arise.)
- Flash/jump/thumb drive
- Small microwave
- Dorm refrigerator (5.8 cf or smaller)
- Fish (Only allowable pet)
- Laundry items:Quarters, laundry bag/hamper, detergent, fabric softener, fabreze
- Area rug and maybe a chair (Warning: We have seen it all but remember the furniture already in your room stays in your room, so don't bring too many extras.)
- Bicycle (Riding varies from pavement to all terrain.)
- Bedding: sheets, blankets, comforter, and pillow. (The beds are 72 inches long, so extra-long sheets are suggested.)
Personal Items: towels, wash cloths, soap, aspirin, first aid supplies, shampoo, tooth paste, tooth brush, razors, hair dryers, etc. (and something to carry items to shower.)
- Other: paper towels or small items for clean-up, sewing kit, hangers, coffee mug, cup, bowl, plate, fork, knife, spoon,can opener, and stacking bins.
- School supplies: Calculator, dictionary, paper, pens, pencils, sharpener, ruler, tape, scissors, stamps, and backpack.
What NOT to Bring
Telephone (phones are provided)
- Answering machine (you will have your own voicemail)
- Fax (digital telephones prevent fax machines from working. Fax machines are available in the student center.)
- Toaster ovens
- Hot plates
- Electric skillets
- Oil corn poppers
- Space heaters
- Candles
- Fuel canisters
Camp stoves
- Incense and burners
- Firearms and ammunition
- Paintball guns
- Hunting knives
- Waterbeds
- Lofts for beds
- Construction materials
- Pets (except for fish. If it breaths air, it can't be in the building)
