Why do I need to do this?

In order to use a video game console (Microsoft XBox, XBox 360, Sony Playstation 2, Playstation 3, or Nintendo Wii) or DVR Devices (TiVo) on Carroll's network, you must register the console's MAC address. Carroll does not support older modem-based consoles.

If you would like to connect your console, please fill out the form below. Your username and password are the same that you use for the labs. The MAC address must be entered in the form of XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX. Please allow 2 business days for registration to be completed. An email will be sent to the address provided when your request has been processed.

To obtain the MAC address of your Xbox 360 console:

  1. Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard and select Network Settings.
  2. Select Edit Settings.
  3. From Additional Settings, select Advanced Settings.
  4. At the bottom of this screen you'll see a heading called Wired MAC Address.

To obtain the MAC address of your PlayStation 3 console:

  1. Power up the PlayStation 3 without any disc in the drive.
  2. Once the PlayStation 3 operating system has loaded, select "Settings."
  3. Once you are in "Settings" select "Network Settings."
  4. When the "Network Settings" list appears, select the first option which is titled "Settings and Connection Status List."
  5. The physical address will be listed under "MAC Address.

To obtain the MAC address of your Nintendo Wii console:

  1. From the Wii Channel menu, select "Wii Settings" (the round button on the bottom-left of the screen with "Wii" on it).
  2. Select "Internet," then "Console Settings."
  3. The MAC address of the Wii console is displayed on the first line.

For other devices you may have to refer to your console or DVR's manual as a reference.

Note: Do not register the MAC address from your personal computer, only the MAC address from the game console.
