impact business campaign

Summary

The Spring 2008 IMPACT Annual Fund Business Campaign kicks off on February 12 and continues until March 11. This year's goal is $100,000, which directly goes to fund student scholarships at Carroll College. Our business co-chairs are Teri Calton, class of 1992 and the community banking president for Wells Fargo Bank in Helena, and PHIL PORRINI, a professional engineer retired from Robert Peccia and Associates who currently works as an engineer consultant. These business co-chairs are dedicated to supporting Carroll as leads for this campaign because they believe in Carroll's mission of educating the whole person and building character through a value-based curriculum.

“Carroll graduates today have a good work ethic and are self-reliant and mature. They emerge from Carroll with the idea that they need to work hard, that it’s not going to be handed to them. I just think we’re very fortunate to have Carroll in our community providing a good candidate pool for the jobs of the future.”

Phil Porrini
Phil PorriniPhil is a  professional engineer retired from Robert Peccia and Associates who currently works as an engineer consultant. Phil is excited to be a part with the 2008 Carroll IMPACT Business Campaign.

“The value of a good Catholic education has impacted myself and my family directly. Donating time and money to the worthwhile endeavor of educating young people is the best way possible to give back to your community. Some Carroll students are struggling, and these students need the blessing of our resources. For me, that’s definitely a worthy cause."
Phil Porrini, 2008 IMPACT Business Co-Chair

2008 Student Co-Chairs

Krista Lowary and Kevin JamCarroll's IMPACT student co-chairs are Krista Lowary, a senior Business Administration major from Pendleton, Oregon, and senior history major Kevin Jam from Red Lodge, Montana. Both of these outstanding students can tell you how scholarships made the difference in their lives by making college possible for them. Involved in volunteering in the community and committed to academic excellence, these students represent the excellent caliber of students Carroll College attracts and retains thanks to generous scholarships.

“I couldn’t get an education without help from the community. I’m all on my own in my education, and I wouldn’t be able to pursue my goal of becoming a business entrepreneur without scholarships.”
Krista Lowary, IMPACT Student Co-Chair

"Carroll's business is not merely to produce good doctors, teachers, scientists, writers, lawyers, artists and business professionals, but also, and so imperatively, good leaders, citizens, mothers, fathers, neighbors and community members. This is the value of the liberal arts, and specifically, the value of Carroll's vision.”
Kevin Jam, IMPACT Student Co-Chair
