Carroll men's basketball team scores 117 in blowout victory

DILLON - The Carroll College basketball team broke the century mark and put five players in double figures, as the Saints trounced Oregon's Multnomah College, 117-59, in the second round of the Craig Finberg Memorial Tournament.

Chris Medina and Casey Rodgers paced the attack for Carroll (2-0) in the Dillon tourney on Saturday, with 21 and 20 points, respectively. Andy Garland chipped in 18, followed by James MacIntyre, with 18, and 11 from Sam Cartmell.

Tyler Yates posted 22 markers for Multnomah, with Nicolaas Kamlade adding 11.

The Saints shot 48 percent from the floor (43-of-88), led by Rodgers, who was 6-of-7 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from 3-point land. He also hit all four of his free throw attempts. Medina drained five treys, and now has 11 3-pointers in the team's first two games of the season.

Multnomah was just 32 percent from the floor.

The Hilltoppers' Chase Godecke pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds.
