choosing a path
After completing HAB 107, 108, and PSY 307, students apply for admission to the Human-Animal Bond Program. Students will select a track: Canine or Equine.
Canine Track
- Basic Canine Science and Training, HAB 312 (4 credits)
- Assigned a puppy
- Raise and train for service to humans, i.e. disabled person, search and rescue, animal assisted activity
- Canine Assisted Therapy, HAB 313 (4 credits)
- Advanced Courses
- Practicum (3 credits)
Equine Track
Students will develop skills and specific knowledge in the field of equine assisted therapy.
- Basic Equine science & training, HAB 331 (4 credits)
- Equine Assisted Therapy, HAB 332 (4 credits)
- Advanced Courses
- Practicum, HAB 417 (3 credits)
Capstone
After completing your path courses, you will move on to the Capstone Course.
