DETAILS

Carroll’s short-term education abroad program offers an intimate and powerful encounter with life in a foreign country far beyond the typical tourist experience. Led by Carroll professors, these excursions to foreign countries typically last one to four weeks and are scheduled during the fall, Christmas, spring, and summer breaks.

Costs for the programs vary and may include tuition, travel, accommodations, planned excursions, health insurance and, in many cases, meals. Passport fees, spending money, certain excluded meals and side excursions are extra expenses for which participants are responsible.

Accommodations differ depending on the program, from jungle huts in Belize to an Irish bed and breakfast.

Non-students, including Carroll alumni, or students from other institutions can enroll for these programs if approval is given by the EAO. The Education Abroad staff handles all aspects of Carroll’s study abroad programs, including organizing programs with the host professor and assisting travelers in applying to the program, obtaining passports and applying for visas. They also work hard to keep costs as affordable as possible.

"All of life is a journey which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there.
