Foundations of Equine Facilitated and Assisted Mental Health and Education Services

During the summer of 2008 Carroll College hosted an eight-day workshop that was designed for PROFESSIONALS and GRADUATE STUDENTS interested in gaining a comprehensive theoretical overview of Equine Facilitated and Assisted Mental Health/Education Services. The course introduced students to The Commission for Certified Equine Facilitated Mental Health and Education Professionals and provided important training for those interested in pursuing certification. The format of the workshop included lectures, discussions, and plenty of hands-on instruction with horses which totaled 32 hours. The course was limited to only 10-12 participants.

Location

The course was held at the Blacktail Ranch in Wolf Creek, Montana. It was an ideal location for the workshop, with beautiful ranch-style facilities, breathtaking views, and free time activities like trail riding, hiking, fishing, boating, photography, and much more.
